Red flags
- Non-blanching or purpuric rash
- rash with fever and toxic appearance
- signs of anaphylaxis such as wheeze, breathing difficulty, tongue/lip swelling, or hypotension
- rapidly progressive swelling or redness
First actions / assessment
- ABCDE first if unwell
- rapidly assess for anaphylaxis and airway involvement
- record full vitals and assess perfusion, hydration, and mental status
